The mower thinks it's been lifted, tilted or turned over, so it stops the blades immediately for safety. Often it's the ground — not a person — tripping the sensor.
Common causes
Someone genuinely picked it up, or it drove up and over an obstacle.
A slope steeper than the model's limit, especially on wet grass.
Hollows, ruts, molehills or tree roots that tilt the chassis as it passes.
A sticking lift handle or tilt sensor.
How to fix it
Place the mower back on flat, firm ground and restart it.
Level out hollows and ruts, and remove or fence off anything it climbs onto.
Keep the mower off ground steeper than its rated slope limit.
If it reports lifted or tilted on flat ground with nothing wrong, the lift or tilt sensor needs checking.
