On some models (first reported on a 450X NERA) a persistent collision error with no obstacle in front of the mower can come from the machine itself, not the lawn. A knock hard enough to crack the blade-motor housing can also break a wheel-protector bumper or disturb the small magnet-and-plate the lift/collision safety detection relies on — any of which can make the mower log collisions and refuse to run, while a dealer's diagnostic computer flags only the obvious broken part. The tell: a real obstacle stops the mower at one fixed spot (and it simply reverses off furniture or stones); a fault it carries with it shows up as collisions scattered all over the lawn. Worth checking — clean the lift magnet and the metal plate it meets, then inspect the bumpers and chassis for damage or loose parts.
